Forgiven But Oh Well!

Greetings,

I was just thinking about the only really attractive part of the B-I-B-L-E for me is the one where you square your thinking and get along with other people.

Sometimes I hate this part, because I don't really like "returning good for evil" and forgiving if I want to be forgiven. I don't like treating people as I would like to be treated, when I feel I have been mistreated. Blaah!

ARGH! I want to cry, whine, fuss and get revenge. But it turns out that all the rot you want to pass out only rots you, and the sooner you figure it out, the better things will become, inside at least.

The happy thing is that the people you were going to be furious at turn out to be just people with flaws, just like me, and they start acting nice when you are nice to them. Bake cookies just for you!

This is really puzzling, but better than the death spiral of mad anger. Have you ever seen that? Felt it? Wanted it to go away and it just won't?

I don't know, cousin, but I think the cure is to do something really fun, get away from what's hurting (at least for awhile!) and replace it with something good.

The really quickest cure is to do something nice for the person you are mad at and try and make them laugh. Laughter cures a lot.

Does anyone have any extra bad feelings they would LIKE to keep? Of course not, but this is a tricky business. You don't FEEL nice and you don't feel good, either. But try it, bunkie, or else go skiing!

The dogs got out and I'm really worried - they didn't come home like they usually do, the little escapists. I think the cure for that is to see their sweet little doggie faces again! Buster, Lady, COME HOME!

Best,

Auriel
